Thought I’d tell you guys a little bit about what I’ve been up to lately and how the EP is coming along. I know it has been ages since I wrote a blog but I will try to stay on top of it from now on :)
To start off, my first single, “As Good As It Gets” is being played in 19 states on 33 stations so far and that’s just with a prerelease compilation cd with other artists from HMG. It will be released very shortly on my own cd with the other tracks. I get soo excited when I receive the records of where it’s being played and who wants giveaways/interviews. I’ve never had a song played on the radio so this is all so new to me. I think it’s so cool that people want autographed cds of MINE. Hopefully once my cd is released to them with the other songs I’ll get even more play! **fingers crossed** Please feel free to call into your local country station if you live in the US and ask them to play my songs! I’d really, really, really appreciate it.
My self-titled EP will also be released on iTunes in a week or two! I can’t wait for the day to come when I can search my own name on iTunes and have a cd pop up. It will also be for sale on other websites etc. but we’re still working all of that out.
As far as new songs go, I have been doing a whole lotta writing lately and I’ve come up with some ideas that I’m really happy with! I’ve posted a couple on youtube and on the website for you to check out, but I hope to get a lot more up for you guys soon – unfortunately it’s exam time and I need to start focussing on school if I plan on graduating this year. I just find school so boring when I know that I could be spending my time writing or recording or practicing. But hey, I’ve spent 4 and a half years on this degree so far… can’t give up now! Lol. Anyways, back to music! I’ve also started co-writing a song with a very talented artist from Ottawa named Chris Evans. I CANNOT wait for you guys to get the chance to hear this song. It’s going to be soo good (sorry for tooting our own horns lol). But seriously, I was very nervous to write with someone because I have my own way of writing songs, but this was such a great experience and I know it will help me so much as a writer. Hopefully we will have the song finished this week! I will ALSO be co-writing with another very talented local artist named Chris Labelle (I’m all about the Chris’s apparently). I’ll have more about Chris and what we’ve been up to in my next blog, but for now I’ll just let you know that we are going to be writing a song together and heading down to Niagra to record it for you guys! I can’t wait to get started on that project with him. He’s a pop-rocker-gone-country artist so it will be really cool to see what kind of sound we come up with!
So that’s it for now, I will have another post up for you soon about a bunch of other stuff I’ve been up to and things that are on their way. Please keep your eyes open for it!
